Oklahoma State denied Big 12 title by Jalen Saunders' score

Wide receiver Jalen Saunders scored the game-winning touchdown, as Oklahoma defeated Oklahoma State Saturday.

The definition of "Bedlam" is chaos or madness, and the 108th installment of the rivalry bearing that name certainly delivered plenty of both, as Oklahoma wide receiver Jalen Saunders caught a game-winning 7-yard touchdown pass with 19 seconds remaining in a 33-24 win over Oklahoma State.

The Oklahoma State loss makes Saturday's Texas-Baylor game the de-facto Big 12 championship game, as the winner will win the conference title outright and earn a berth in the Fiesta Bowl.

Top 10 rivalry games

These are the top 10 college football rivalry games, as determined by the College Football 24/7 staff.

Saunders' reception was the Sooners' only offensive touchdown all day, adding scores on a 64-yard punt return touchdown by the 5-foot-9 senior transfer from Fresno State, a fake field goal that saw holder Grant Bothun find kicker Michael Hunnicutt for an 8-yard touchdown reception and linebacker Eric Striker's recovery of a lateral in the end zone to end the game.

Saunders finished with 157 all-purpose yards (69 yards on two punt returns, 49 rushing yards on two carries, 39 receiving yards on five receptions), again solidifying his case that he should receive a look from NFL teams as a return specialist and slot receiver.

Cowboys cornerback Justin Gilbert continued his outstanding play, but will be remembered for the one play he didn't make. Gilbert appeared to intercept Oklahoma quarterback Blake Bell -- one of three signal-callers used by the Sooners as starter Trevor Knight missed the second half with an injury -- inside the red zone in the final minute. But officials ruled Gilbert did not maintain possession after going to the ground, and the replay official was unable to initiate the review before Bell got the next play off.

Desmond Roland, the impressive junior running back who sparked Oklahoma State's late-season surge, was just as impressive. Roland rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, while showing off his skills as a receiver on a 15-yard touchdown catch.
