The Buffalo Bills have seen enough from Tashard Choice.

The veteran running back was released on Wednesday, the team announced, after serving as a spot player in the backfield since 2011.

Choice amassed 126 yards on 35 carries this season, spelling Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller. The move suggests that rookie Ronnie Wingo will see snaps on offense down the stretch, but not as many as Choice with Spiller's ankle on the mend.

Spiller exploded for 149 rushing yards in Buffalo's 34-31 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday and remains this team's most dangerous back. Jackson deserves more credit for his handiwork this season, running for 4.2 yards per carry and giving Buffalo a presence on the ground when Spiller wasn't healthy enough to play.

It's that time of year, when teams shut down players in bunches and part ways with aging performers who aren't part of the long-term plan. Choice learned that firsthand on Wednesday.
