Percy Harvin's surgically repaired hip only got worse over the Seattle Seahawks' bye week.
Following coach Pete Carroll's declaration that Harvin was "doubtful" to play on "Monday Night Football," NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Harvin had cortisone shots on his ailing hip Saturday, per a source informed of the wide receiver's health. Harvin views himself as "out" for Monday's game against the New Orleans Saints.
The cortisone shots first were reported by FoxSports.com's Mike Garafolo.
Harvin made a couple of plays in his return to action in Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings. It's worth wondering if the Seahawks rushed him back, and how big a factor Harvin will be as we get closer to the playoffs. It's not a great sign that Harvin had limited snaps in his only action, and now he isn't available to play two weeks later in a crucial contest for NFC seeding.
The Seahawks have made a long-term investment in Harvin, but this is not what they imagined when they traded for him in the offseason.
