Perrish Cox released by Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks signed cornerback Perrish Cox on Tuesday to add depth to their depleted secondary. On Wednesday, they oddly waived him.

Cox last was with the San Francisco 49ers. Perhaps the Seahawks pumped Cox for information, got what they needed and sent him on his way. (We're kidding. Sorta.)

The Seahawks have one cornerback, Walter Thurmond III, who started serving a suspension this week. They have another cornerback, Brandon Browner, who is facing a suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Browner's appeal was heard Wednesday, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Seattle promoted defensive back DeShawn Shead from the practice squad to take Cox's place on the roster.

The latest "Around The League Podcast" previewed all three of the big Thanksgiving games on the schedule.
