Brandon Weeden will start for Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns coach Rob Chudzinski acknowledged Monday that Brandon Weeden would likely start at quarterback this week with Jason Campbell going through the NFL's concussion protocol.

Chudzinski made it official Wednesday, declaring Weeden his starter versus the Jacksonville Jaguarson Sunday.

Campbell is feeling better, but he's not ready to practice. Chudzinski said there is no consideration of placing Campbell on injured reserve at this point.

The Browns chances of beating the Jaguars take a severe hit with Weeden under center against a suddenly feisty Jacksonville squad that has won two of its past three games.

Among quarterbacks with at least 100 pass attempts this season, only Geno Smith and Josh Freeman have a lower passer rating than Weeden's 66.0. Things turned so sour in last week's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers that Weeden was booed by the home crowd. Don't be surprised if it happens again Sunday.
