Two men have been charged in the shooting death of former Eastern Michigan wide receiver Demarius Reed, according to chicagotribune.com.

Ed Thomas and Kristopher Pratt, both 20 years old, have been arrested for charges of murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Reed's body was discovered Oct. 18 by his roommate in the hallway of an apartment complex near the EMU campus.

"I was feeling kind of hopeless that maybe this will go unresolved forever, said Reed's father, Carl. "But when (police) called (about charges being filed), there was that relief and then joy. ... Everybody is hopeful that we can bring some type of justice, some type of closure."

Reed was a starting wide receiver for the Eagles, making 15 receptions this season for 185 yards and a touchdown through EMU's first six games.
