Eight days after undergoing successful aortic heart valve replacement surgery, Fox said that his "goal and dream" is to take the coaching reins back "before the conclusion of the season."
That's more of an expression of hope than a strict timetable.
"I'm very, very healthy," Fox emphasized Tuesday. "The normal length (of hospitalization) for open-heart surgery is five-to-seven days. I was out in four."
In touch with Broncos headquarters at Dove Valley "on a daily basis," Fox believes the surgery will not require any lifestyle changes once he's fully recovered.
