Arkansas linemen Chris Smith and Travis Swanson were just two of more than 30 college players who received Senior Bowl invitations this week, and Senior Bowl executive director Phil Savage told College Football 24/7 he expects to release more acceptances from the initial wave of invitations Monday.
"We'll confirm acceptances once a week, probably on Mondays, continuing through November," Savage said. "We'll update them on the web site and probably put them on Twitter as we go."
A total of 110 players will be invited initially, to fill two squads with 55-man rosters, with the last of those expected to be sent out by Dec. 1. As players decline invitations because of injury or other circumstances, the Senior Bowl will extend more invitations in December to fill the void, Savage said.
"Last year, we didn't start (inviting players) until December," Savage added. "This year, we are getting ahead of it a little better."
