Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones had plenty to smile about in Sunday's 49-9 wipeout of the New York Jets, but smile he did not.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported Monday that Jones was upset over the play of Jets receiver David Nelson, who hauled in eight catches for 80 yards on the day. A source told the newspaper that Jones threatened Nelson with payback for what the defender considered to be dirty play.

"I'm going to find out where you live and come and get you," Jones told Nelson, per the source.

"(Nelson) was playing dirty," Jones told the Bengals' official website. "He cut me like four times after the play. Thank God I took my medicine today -- I guess -- and I didn't go off. Hopefully, he'll get fined. At least three fines. There were three real cheap shots after the play."

Jones -- who had a pick six in the win -- also told the site that he bickered with Jets coach Rex Ryan in the second half. "He told me to shut the hell up," Jones said.

Nelson was flagged for an unnecessary roughness penalty in the third quarter, and we imagine the league will investigate his play. We also know the NFL doesn't take kindly to reports of verbal threats, so the league's in-house version of Philip Marlowe has a busy Monday ahead.
