Brandon Gibson left the field on a cart Sunday after suffering a first-half knee injury against the New England Patriots. It might be the last time we see the Miami Dolphins wide receiver in 2013.

NFL Media's Albert Breer reports the initial diagnosis for Gibson is that his knee injury likely is season-ending, according to a source briefed on his injury. The injury is believed to be a torn patella tendon.

Gibson was injured coming down on his left knee after attempting to make a leaping catch on a high Ryan Tannehill pass. He was limping badly as he came off the field.

Gibson had a 4-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter Sunday and had been a nice addition to the Dolphins' offense this season. He entered the game with 29 catches for 322 yards and two touchdowns.
