Vanderbilt receiver Jordan Matthews won't want to remember much about the Commodores' embarrassing 56-24 loss Saturday to Texas A&M, but the 2014 NFL Draft prospect won't have a choice.
Matthews broke the SEC record for career receiving yards, previously held by Georgia's Terrence Edwards, with eight receptions for 92 yards. The senior needed just 13 yards entering the game to pass Edwards, and now has amassed 3,173 yards for his career.

What could be far more impressive, however, is the margin by which Matthews could bury the old mark. He still has at least four games left in his career, perhaps five if the Commodores qualify for a bowl game. At his current pace for the season, Matthews could easily eclipse the 3,500-yard mark for his career. Vandy's remaining games include Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee and Wake Forest.
Matthews now has 66 catches for 890 yards this season.
