The durable wide receiver left Sunday's game and did not return after suffering a non-contact injury to his left knee midway through the fourth quarter of the Colts' 39-33 victory over the Denver Broncos. The team announced that Wayne sprained his knee.

NBC's Michele Tafoya reported that Wayne was visibly frustrated on the sideline with tears in his eyes. He later was led to the Colts' locker room for further examination.

Wayne's left knee appeared to buckle as he attempted to corral a low throw by Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. Wayne stayed down on the field for several minutes before leaving the field under his own power.

Wayne has played in 189 consecutive games.

UPDATE: It doesn't sound good for Wayne. Per ESPN, Colts doctors initially diagnosed a torn ACL and everyone is "hoping for a miracle" as the receiver has an MRI.
