You don't have to read too closely between the lines to sense Michael Vick might be facing a lengthy absence from game action.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback sounded discouraged Wednesday when discussing the hamstring injury that likely will keep him on the sideline for a second straight week. Vick doesn't know when he'll get back on the field.
"I want to get back out there, but I can't," Vick said, via CSN Philly. "I try to burst and run, I can't do it. Just hoping it's not a long time."
"It's worse than what I thought it was going to be," he added. "It's just slow. It's taking longer than I thought it would."
It's a familiar refrain for Vick, who's played a full 16-game season just once since entering the league in 2001. He practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday while Nick Foles took first-team reps.
Vick said the hamstring strain is high up on his leg. Generally, the higher the strain is, the longer it takes to heal. Vick is on the shelf, and he might have to get comfortable there. The "Around The League Podcast" is now available on iTunes! Click here to listen and subscribe.
