Schaub had his lower leg twisted underneath his body on a sack by Rams defensive end Chris Long. He was able to walk off the field under his own power, but watched T.J. Yates from the sideline the rest of the way in a 38-13 season-crashing loss.
Schaub's play was far down the list of reasons for the outsized deficit. Although the offense stalled on third downs and in the red zone, the Texans were averaging roughly 10.0 yards per play at halftime.
Prior to the injury, Schaub was essentially the same player he's been since taking over as the Texans starter in 2007 -- as opposed to the tentative interception machine of the past three weeks.
Texans fanatics are on their tenterhooks for a quarterback change, but Yates isn't the answer. This game turned on penalties, turnovers and a pathetic defensive effort.
