Jack Del Rio staying mum on USC Trojans job

Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio is being mentioned as one of the top candidates for the USC head coaching job, but he declined to comment on the position Thursday, according to the Denver Post.

"I'm not in a position, nor do I have a desire to comment on speculation," Del Rio said. "I'll leave it at that."

Reporters asked Del Rio if USC had contacted him.

"No, there is nothing to speak on that subject," he said. "I'm really here to talk on the Cowboys and our preparation and getting ready for them."

The former Jaguars head coach was an All-American linebacker for the Trojans in the 1980s.

Del Rio reportedly confirmed he was not as Los Angeles Airport on Sunday evening -- a University of Houston tennis coach tweeted that he spotted Del Rio at the airport that night.
