It never rains at Autzen Stadium, but a very "stiff dew" led to a wild first half between California and Oregon on Saturday night.

Things we learned

From Aaron Murray's big-game heroics vs. LSU to Oklahoma's statement win at Notre Dame, here are the things we learned from college football's fifth weekend. **More ...**

The Golden Bears lost fumbles on their first four possessions, leading to two Ducks touchdowns. Oregon also struggled to hang on to the wet ball, putting the ball on the ground several times but only losing one, opening up a 41-3 halftime lead behind two Marcus Mariota touchdown passes and one touchdown run from the redshirt sophomore against an overmatched Cal defense.

But Oregon may have suffered a bigger loss as star running back De'Anthony Thomas suffered an apparent right ankle injury returning the opening kickoff. Thomas did not return to the game and was shown on the sideline using a crutch under his heavy rain jacket in the second half.

Oregon likely won't need the electric all-purpose threat against Colorado next Saturday, but face upstart Washington in two weeks in a key Pac-12 North game.

Then again, sophomore wide receiver Bralon Addison did a pretty good Thomas imitation by scoring on punt returns of 75 and 67 yards.
