Florida sophomore Dante Fowler has quickly emerged as one of the top playmakers in the Southeastern Conference this season, picking up two more sacks Saturday against Kentucky for combined losses of 18 yards.

Things we learned

From Aaron Murray's big-game heroics vs. LSU to Oklahoma's statement win at Notre Dame, here are the things we learned from college football's fifth weekend. **More ...**

It was the second week in a row that the Gators' pass-rushing specialist has wreaked havoc on an opposing offense. In a blowout win over Tennessee last week, Fowler was all over the field in picking up three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Five of his last eight tackles have come behind the line of scrimmage, three of them being sacks.

For Fowler, it's been a quick turnaround after he posted relatively harmless games against Toledo and Miami in the Gators' first two games of the season. It's come at an ideal time for the Gators, as its other key pass rusher, Ronald Powell, opened with two impressive games but has done little in the two games Fowler has excelled.

Powell had two sacks, four quarterback hurries and three tackles for loss over UF's first two games, but did not scratch any of the big-play categories in two games since.

Ideally, UF defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin would like to get both playing disruptive football on the same Saturday, and they'll get that chance next week when UF plays host to Arkansas.
