UCLA freshman Christian Morris to transfer to Ole Miss

UCLA offensive lineman Christian Morris, a member of the Bruins' freshman class, will likely transfer to Ole Miss, the former four-star recruit told bruinsportsreport.com.

"I've been talking to the compliance of Ole Miss; that's probably where I'm going to go," Morris said. "They were very close to home so I can get to my grandmother and family more. ... I just thank the coaching staff. And both coaching staffs if Ole Miss gives me a scholarship offer, for giving me a second chance. I just thank coach Mora and them for just helping me out. I don't know what would have happened if they didn't help me out. I respect them for everything."

The web site reported that Morris will apply for a hardship waiver to protect his eligibility.

Morris (6-feet-6, 293 pounds) is from Memphis, Tenn., just a 90-minute drive from the Rebels campus in Oxford, Miss. He attended Memphis East High, where he garnered offers from dozens of schools, including Ole Miss, although his official visits were to UCLA, Nebraska, Washington and Tennessee.

Morris was among the nation's top offensive line recruits last year, having participated in the U.S. Army All-American game. He had not appeared in any games for the Bruins this season.
