Austin Seferian-Jenkins finally a factor as Washington cruises

Washington's walkover game against Idaho State proved to be just that, as the Huskies strolled to a 56-0 victory to improve to 3-0 heading into Pac-12 play next week.

The biggest development was a dominant showing from Huskies tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins. The junior was suspended for the season opener against Boise State and caught only three passes for eight yards against Illinois, but showed his All-America form with five receptions for 62 yards and one touchdown.

Washington's new up-tempo offense had been in fine form without Seferian-Jenkins, but the addition of the 6-foot-6, 276-pound mismatch gives them an attack capable of challenging for the Pac-12 North title.

Running back Bishop Sankey, who came into the game leading the FBS in rushing yards per game, took a quick seat after totaling 77 yards and one touchdown on only four carries.

On the downside, Washington struggled with penalties for the second consecutive week. They committed 16 penalties -- two shy of the school single-game record -- for 130 yards after getting flagged 12 times for 104 yards the previous Saturday. The offensive line was responsible for roughly half of the damage, with multiple false starts and holding calls, including one that negated a touchdown.
