Fred Davis questionable for Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins announced a late addition to the injury report Saturday. Tight end Fred Davis is questionable for Sunday's tilt with the Detroit Lions due to an ankle injury.

Davis has struggled mightily coming off an Achilles injury that ended his 2012 season.

The tight end has just three catches for 25 yards through two games. He reportedly missed several assignments in the Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers, inducing Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to go away from him down the stretch.

With or without Davis on Sunday, Redskins rookie tight end Jordan Reed should see increased playing time. Reed is an athletic, pass-catching tight end with a ton of upside. He is just scratching the surface of his potential with eight catches for 56 yards and one touchdown in the first two weeks. When his rapport with Robert Griffin III strengthens we should see his production increase by leaps and bounds.
