Mike McCarthy: Graham Harrell better than perception

The performance of the Green Bay Packers' second-team offense led by quarterback Graham Harrell on Thursday was undeniably ugly. Harrell helped produce 19 yards on his first 16 snaps, and that was before he threw an interception for a touchdown and took a safety.

Harrell "graded out higher than perception."

That's easy to believe. The pick six, for instance, was clearly not Harrell's fault. His receiver fell on the route. Harrell's other interception was a Hail Mary.

Still, it's hard to argue that Harrell was particularly good otherwise. His protection was bad, but so was his accuracy. It was all bad.

While we're here a few other notes from McCarthy via Tom Silverstein:

  1. Greg Jennings might return to practice following his concussion during the Packers' annual "Family Night" scrimmage on Aug. 3. Jennings has missed almost all of training camp.
  1. Linebacker Desmond Bishop underwent surgery on his hamstring Friday. No determination has been made about whether or not he will be placed on injured reserve.
