Giants players blame dorm beds for back issues

The New York Giants can take down Tom Brady, but they can't seem to get a comfortable night of sleep at training camp.

At least five Giants players have come down with sore backs at SUNY Albany, a list that includes offensive tackles Will Beatty and James Brewer, defensive tackles Marvin Austin and Martin Parker, and cornerback Terrell Thomas. The dormitory beds are being blamed.

Breer: Ready, steady ... Eli!

Eli Manning is unemotional, focused and, yup, pretty bland. Albert Breer says this is why Eli's perfect for the Giants. **More ...**

"Yes, I really do," defensive tackle Linval Josephtold ESPN.com when asked if the beds are causing back issues. "I really do. Beds.

"I mean, everybody has been complaining about their back because the beds in the dorm are fairly hard. My back be hurting, too. I think it is just the bed."

The Giants say no player has approached them with bed concerns. Some players brought their own mattresses to Albany.

"We are big humans," tight end Martellus Bennett said. "Every bed is small. You can't put a damn dinosaur in a twin-sized bed ... all the beds, unless you got a California king, the beds are going to be small to these guys. If a normal-sized human jumps into a regular-sized bed, it fits perfectly. A large big human jumps into a regular-sized bed, the bed is too small."

And with that, we have the runaway leader for greatest quote in training camp history.
