New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes will miss his second straight preseason game Saturday with a rib injury, but coach Rex Ryan expects him to be ready for the start of the regular season, according to the New York Daily News.

Holmes has been ruled out from Saturday's game against the New York Giants with the rib cartilage injury, suffered during a team scrimmage. He previously missed the Jets' preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ryan said he thinks Holmes will to be good to go for the Jets' regular-season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 9.

Holmes was the Jets' top wide receiver in 2011, making 51 catches for 654 yards and eight touchdowns.
