When New York Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas injured his surgically repaired knee last week in practice, it was assumed by some that he had torn his right anterior cruciate ligament for a third time.
Those assumptions were wrong.
Andrews was the third opinion Thomas received in a cross-country tour of medical consultation. He will rehab the injury at Giants facilities, starting as soon as Tuesday. There's no timetable on his return at this point.
"He'll jump into a rehab program," Coughlin said, via the New York Daily News. "We'll watch him very very closely. We'll hopefully accelerate the strengthening of the knee and see how he does."
The Giants got good news here, but they're probably still operating under the premise that anything Thomas can give them this season will be a bonus. Prince Amukamara, your window of opportunity is wide open.
