Injury roundup: Julio Jones, Roddy White are playing

We expected Julio Jones to suit up for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams, and our expectations have been met.

The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver battled a knee injury all week, but Jones -- one of five Falcons listed as questionable -- will play, a source told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

Fellow Falcons pass-catcher Roddy White also will play through the ankle injury that's nagged him for weeks, but Rapoport was told the veteran will get a limited number of snaps against St. Louis. The Falcons announced both receivers are active Sunday.

Additional injury updates heading into Sunday's action:

» Danny Amendolalikely has a sports hernia, sources told NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Sunday, and NFL Media's Albert Breer reported that the New England Patriots wide receiver also has torn adductors in his groin, according to a source briefed on his condition. Rapoport reported a procedure would clean up the sports hernia and likely keep Amendola out for six weeks, but he also could play through the injury. For now, Amendola has been told to rest his injuries, Breer reported, and the Patriots hope the time off will resolve the situation and surgery won't be needed.

» Chris Long will play for the Rams, per Rapoport. The pass rusher missed practice time this week with a hip injury, but it won't prevent Long from appearing in his 81st consecutive game.

» Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is playing Sunday against the Detroit Lions, the team announced. The All-Pro has been dealing with a nagging hamstring injury.

» We'll wait at least another week for our first look at Ed Reed in Houston's secondary. The safety, still rehabbing his surgically repaired hip, is out for Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans, the Texans announced.

» For the Titans, running back Shonn Greene is inactive Sunday because of the right knee injury he sustained in a Week 1 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

» The Colts announced that tight end Dwayne Allen will be inactive against the Dolphins after missing a full week of practice with the hip injury he suffered in Week 1 against the Raiders.
