The Cleveland Browns' disappointing Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins left questions on the table about the role of running back Trent Richardson.
Touted all offseason as a featured back set to get 300-plus carries in his second season, Richardson -- with the Dolphins game still in reach -- didn't even receive a handoff in the fourth quarter.
After Richardson finished with just 13 carries for 47 yards, Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner told reporters Thursday that will change Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Turner wants T-Rich to get 20-plus carries in the AFC North showdown, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.
It only makes sense when you consider Richardson's physical abilities. On Monday night, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy had nine missed tackles in 31 attempts against the Washington Redskins. Richardson registered eight missed tackles despite 18 fewer totes.
With the Ravens certain to unleash their nasty pass rush against Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden, it represents a prime opportunity for Cleveland to hand Richardson a workload worthy of a premier running back.
