Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight will miss at least one game with a knee injury, head coach Bob Stoops said Monday.

"Trevor does have a bruised knee," Stoops said during the weekly Big 12 teleconference. "He will in all likelihood be out for this week. Blake Bell will start."

Things we learned

From Aaron Murray finally winning a big game to a statement win for "The U," here are the things we learned from the second weekend of college football play. **More ...**

Bell, a redshirt junior, replaced Knight during the Sooners' 16-7 win over West Virginia. Bell attempted only one pass and ran twice for 21 yards, as Oklahoma instead relied on a punishing rushing attack and resurgent defense to salt away its conference opener.

Knight was 10 of 20 for 119 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions against the Mountaineers, adding 42 rushing yards on seven carries. Knight was apparently injured late in the first half and his responsibilities were scaled back afterwards, as the Oklahoman noted.

Knight surprisingly won the job over Bell in fall camp, but the redshirt freshman has struggled with his accuracy and decision-making in his first two career starts, throwing for 205 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions while completing only 43.8 percent of his attempts.

Oklahoma should get through this Saturday's game against Tulsa without any issues, but then heads to Notre Dame on Sept. 28 and will need dramatic improvement in its passing offense to win that game and ultimately contend for the Big 12 title.
