The Chiefs came out of the gate leaning heavily on Jamaal Charles in Sunday's season-opening 28-2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, but Kansas City's featured back was not much of a factor after limping off the field in the third quarter.
The team announced Charles was questionable to return after sustaining a quad injury. He was seen riding a stationary bike along the Kansas City sideline before retreating to the locker room. He later returned to the sideline in the fourth quarter.
Charles also hauled in three passes for 23 yards from quarterback Alex Smith. He was targeted six times, making good on offseason whispers that hinted Charles would be a big part of Andy Reid's passing attack.
