Robinson, 30, had several factors working against him, not least of which was a $2.5 million base salary -- high for a fullback in today's NFL.
With Robinson out of the picture, Derrick Coleman and sixth-round draft pick Spencer Ware are in the mix to start at fullback. Undrafted out of UCLA in 2012, Coleman is one of league's best stories. He has been nearly deaf since age 3 because of a genetic hearing impairment.
Don't be surprised if the Seahawks keep the door open for Robinson's return at a reduced salary once he kicks whatever malady it is that's currently ailing him.
