USC receiver Marqise Lee secures $10 million insurance policy

If Marqise Lee never plays a down on Sundays, the USC wide receiver would still be paid handsomely after taking out a multi-million dollar total disability insurance policy, ESPN reported Thursday.

Lee would receive a tax-free payment of $10 million if he were to suffer a career-ending injury. He would also be compensated if an injury hurt his draft position.

Other top college players, including South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, have taken out similar policies ahead of the start of the 2013 season.

The reigning Biletnikoff Award winner, Lee caught 118 passes for 1,721 yards and 14 touchdowns last season to earn unanimous All-America recognition.
