In the "Around The League Podcast" NFC North preview, Gregg Rosenthal made the argument that the Green Bay Packers' two untested "D.B."s at offensive tackle might be the opening another team such as the Chicago Bears could exploit to take home the division crown this year.
Asked by the Green Bay Press-Gazette what he would say to those worried about the young tackles, Thompson replied, "It would probably depend on who the people were. Go on with their life, everything else will be fine."
Thompson added that he indeed feels good about the beleaguered offensive line entering the 2013 season.
Thompson's nonchalance is understandable. Rodgers led the NFL in passer rating last season despite taking more sacks than any other quarterback in the league. The offense finished fifth in the NFL.
The addition of second-round tackle-breaker Eddie Lacy in the ground attack should keep pass rushers from pinning their ears back all season. Even if pass protection remains a weakness, the rest of the roster is strong enough to remain the favorites in the NFC North.
