Wide receiver Roddy White joined healthy tight end Tony Gonzalez on the sideline after sustaining an ankle injury in the second quarter of the Falcons' 27-23 loss. The team announced White's status as questionable, but he did not return.
The injury appeared to occur when White got his feet tangled in the corner of the end zone. He immediately hopped up to complain about a potential pass-interference call -- perhaps a sign that the injury is not serious.
If the ensuing series was any indication, Julio Jones' numbers will go through the roof if White ever misses significant time due to injury. Jones hauled in the final three passes, including an 8-yard touchdown, on a seven-play scoring drive.
UPDATE: White suffered a low ankle sprain, but it's not considered serious, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Friday, per a source informed of the receiver's condition. White has played in 128 consecutive games, and the streak would continue if this was the regular season, but he's expected to miss some time during the preseason, according to Rapoport.
