The Star Tribune first reported Wednesday that fullback Jerome Felton underwent an emergency appendectomy, according to multiple sources. Felton is expected to miss in the range of two weeks.
The Vikings later confirmed the surgery.
Felton emerged as one of the game's best lead blockers in his first season on the Vikings. Peterson respected Felton's abilities enough to say the fullback was "worth 600-700 yards over the course of the season. Maybe more than that."
Peterson will be happy to know Felton should be fully recovered by Minnesota's Sept. 8 season opener. The Around The League Podcast is now available on iTunes! Click here to listen and subscribe.
