Early Doucet cut by Seattle Seahawks after 1 practice

Early Doucet's stay in Seattle was a short one. The Seahawks announced they released the former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Wednesday, just five days after signing him.

The official NFL transaction wire notes that Doucet was released with a "failure to disclose physical condition" tag. Doucet struggled with a rib injury and concussion problems last season in Arizona. Doucet practiced only one day with the Seahawks before hitting the sideline.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll not so coincidentally praised rookie Chris Harper this week, although reports about the fourth-round draft pick's development have been mixed. The Seahawks are looking for help at wide receiver following Percy Harvin's hip injury and Sidney Rice's mysterious Swedish knee procedure.

The Seahawks' enviable receiver depth will be tested. Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin are capable of taking on bigger roles, but this group can't afford another knee injury.
