Jeff Saturday's return to NFL 'possible, not likely,' agent says

Almost the minute after Dan Koppen suffered a season-ending knee injury Sunday, there was Internet speculation that Jeff Saturday could rejoin Peyton Manning and become the Denver Broncos' center.

Ralph Cindrich, Saturday's agent, told me in a text message that it's "possible, not likely" that the six-time Pro Bowl center could come out of retirement. Cindrich said the Broncos, who signed veteran lineman Steve Vallos after Koppen was injured, haven't called about Saturday. Cindrich did add that Saturday finished his 14-year NFL career healthy.

Saturday now is an ESPN analyst. He was Manning's center with the Indianapolis Colts for 13 years (1999-2011) and spent the 2012 season with the Green Bay Packers. Manning and Saturday shared an almost-ceremonial first snap during the first quarter of the 2013 Pro Bowl.
