Report: Austin Collie, Laurent Robinson visiting Jets?

The New York Jets are taking steps to address their suspect wide receiver depth chart.

The team is hosting free-agent receivers Laurent Robinson and Austin Collie for workouts, multiple media outlets reported Monday.

Both Robinson and Collie are players with pedigree and troubling concussion histories. Collie began working out for teams this spring following receiving clearance after head and knee injuries. Robinson also was cleared after coming off of a 2012 season when he suffered four concussions with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Collie previously visited with the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots. Robinson has additional visits scheduled with the Patriots and Detroit Lions, Robinson told NFL Network's Andrea Kremer in a Monday text. ESPN New York first reported Robinson's visits.

Braylon Edwards remains another option for the Jets, but he has not been brought in for a workout at this time. The New York Daily News reported Edwards -- who has had two previous stops with the Jets -- still is in consideration to be brought in at some point during training camp.

New Jets tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. threw his support behind his former teammate in a Monday tweet.

The cap-strapped Jets chose not to address the wide receiver position during free agency or through the draft, a surprising decision that looks more suspect now that Santonio Holmes has emerged as a legitimate question mark for camp and perhaps beyond.
