New York Giants safety Will Hill is in more trouble.
The Giantsannounced Saturday that the NFL has suspended Hill without pay for the first four games of the 2013 regular season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.
Hill will be eligible to return to the active roster Sept. 30, after the Giants' Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.
This already is the second suspension for Hill, a second-year pro who was suspended four games last year for performance-enhancing drug use. Hill said the previous suspension was for Adderall. His latest suspension is for substance abuse, an important distinction.
It's a troubling new development for Hill, who appeared to turn his life around after partying and drug use derailed his college career at Florida and led to him being undrafted by an NFL team.
You wonder how much more patience the Giants will have following this latest setback.
