Randy Starks, Paul Soliai might flee Dolphins in 2014

The Miami Dolphins arguably boast one of the best defensive tackle tandems in football with Paul Soliai and Randy Starks. (In fact, I argued just that earlier this offseason.)

That tandem could be completely off the roster in 2014. Both players are free agents after the season, and it is very unlikely that either player will get a long-term contract before the season starts.

Brooks: Fins up!

Bucky Brooks provides three reasons why Miami's offense will be one of the NFL's most explosive units in the 2013 campaign. **More ...**

Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reported Wednesday that the Dolphinshaven't made a contract offer to Starks since they used the franchise tag on him. Earlier this offseason, Starks rejected a deal that wasn't "remotely close" to his asking price, according to Jackson.

Soliai also hasn't received a contract offer. The Dolphins have nice depth on the defensive line, but they can expect to lose one of their starters next year, if not both.

Starks was an outstanding free-agent signing by Bill Parcells in Miami, the rare veteran free-agent contract that will live out its duration. Soliai was a great fourth-round draft pick in 2007. Perhaps the new Dolphins regime believes the team got great play out of the duo and will look to move on.
