Ryan Swope still not practicing for Arizona Cardinals

Ryan Swope fell to the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft because of concerns over his concussion history at Texas A&M.

This issue has followed Swope into the NFL. As ESPN's Adam Schefter pointed out Wednesday morning, Swope has yet to practice with the Cardinals as he deals with concussion symptoms.

The evolution of the NFL:
Take a look at how the NFL has evolved from its humble roots, and the efforts being made to ensure it continues to grow.

It goes without saying that this is a troubling way for the rookie wide receiver to begin his career. If he isn't cleared for non-padded practice with teammates, it's hard to imagine Swope receiving the green light for training camp next month. It's believed Swope suffered four concussions during a college career in which he played with Ryan Tannehill and became the Aggies' all-time leading receiver.

It's unclear if the Cardinals entered this situation with their eyes open, or if Swope's lingering symptoms come as an unwelcome surprise. If healthy, Swope is in position to slide behind Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and Andre Roberts on the Cardinals' depth chart.

That's all on hold for now, however.
