Ware -- recovering from offseason shoulder surgery -- told reporters Thursday that he's yet to be cleared by team doctors to practice. He will sit out the team's veteran minicamp next week.
"I feel good. I'm not 100 percent, but I'm good enough to play," said Ware, according to ESPNDallas.com. "I still got a couple of months to recover and get ready for training camp and I'll be ready by then."
Ware is confident he won't start training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
"I don't think so," Ware said. "I will be out there doing training camp. I might be limited, but I will be doing training camp stuff."
Ware managed 11.5 sacks last season while essentially playing with one arm. In addition to the torn labrum in the shoulder, Ware hyperextended his elbow multiple times. The Cowboys will play it cautious with Ware, who transitions from outside linebacker to defensive end in new coordinator Monte Kiffin's 4-3 base scheme.
