We wish Laub all the best in an uphill battle to beat out Kellen Moore for the No. 3 quarterback job, but we doubt that Lions fans feel as generous about this omen. This would be like the New York Jets signing Vernon Gholston's brother or the San Diego Chargers reaching agreement with Ryan Leaf's nephew.

To put it another way: This is the exact opposite of the San Francisco 49ersgiving Nate Montana a tryout.
