Lewis, 22, was arrested Saturday at 1:30 a.m. on charges of disturbing the peace, public intoxication and interfering with official procedure after fighting in and outside a bar in the campus corner district of Norman, according to an affidavit provided by police.

Lewis was thrown out of the bar for fighting and continued to fight with another man once he was outside, the report said. Officers arriving at the scene reported Lewis failed to comply to their commands to stop fighting, and they used a taser to subdue him and the other man.

Lewis was transported to Norman Regional Hospital before he was booked into Cleveland County jail, the report said.

"We are aware of the incident involving Ronnell Lewis," the Lions said in a statement. "We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time."

Lewis appeared in eight games for the Lions last season. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
