The Packers are in the market for a running back, again. They haven't had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2009, though coach Mike McCarthy says that's not a priority. The offense, however, gained momentum late in the 2012 season and won four of five games after rushing for at least 113 yards in those contests. The Packers failed to surpass 84 rushing yards in three of five regular-season losses.
Benson has remained unsigned this offseason, and the Packers would like to consider that option before the 2013 NFL Draft on Thursday. A healthy Benson in the fold could influence the decision on when and if the team takes a running back.
