Inside the Schedule

The scheduling gods still think highly of the Giants -- or at least New York's television market -- handing Big Blue no less than five prime-time matchups. It's a crime one of those night games isn't against the Denver Broncos. The Eli vs. Peyton Manning duel unfolds on Sunday afternoon in Week 2, New York's only home game in September. Drawing the AFC West is a plus, but a late-season stretch against the Packers, Cowboys, Redskins and Seahawks will tell us if the Giants are for real.
Key Game
Week 1 at Cowboys
Last year's season-opening loss to the Cowboys got New York's title defense off to a rocky start. One year later, the Giants have a chance to wake up on the right side of the bed in the gnarly NFC East. Cynics argue this Giants-Cowboys rivalry feeds more on hype than substance (at least from the Dallas angle), but there's no finer way to kick things off than listening to Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth croon about Eli vs. Tony.
