Tavon Austin, Detroit Lions' Reggie Bush 'like twins'

It's mid-April, and Tavon Austin is the belle of the ball.

Create your own mock draft and you could win a trip to Kickoff 2013.

The West Virginia receiver's laundry list of pre-draft visits included a meet-and-greet Wednesday with the Detroit Lions, the team announced.

Asked to project himself into Matthew Stafford's offense, Austin told the team's official site he sees himself as "another type of player like Reggie (Bush). Me and him would probably be twins back there."

Austin to the Lions at No. 5 is unlikely, unless the Lions wheel and deal its way down the board. Still, it's an intoxicating thought and a potential nightmare for the rest of the NFC North.

Austin sees his role in the NFL as "pretty much all skill positions on offense you can play, as well as returning punts and kicks. Just get me in space."

His versatility has NFL teams drooling. He's regularly labeled a wideout, but Austin can line up all over the field and kill teams as a runner, too. Case in point: He rushed 21 times for 344 yards against Oklahoma last season.

In theory, the Lions already have Bush tapped for this role. Coach Jim Schwartz sees Bush potentially hauling in 80 passes next season, but Austin would give the Lions the type of No. 2 wideout they've long sought. It also might mean a whole new world for Calvin Johnson. Lions fans are allowed to dream.
