Kellen Clemens, St. Louis Rams reportedly strike deal

While the St. Louis Rams continue to build around starting quarterback Sam Bradford, the Rams also are thinking about what's behind him.

USA Today's Mike Garafolo reported Monday evening that backup quarterback Kellen Clemens has agreed to return on a one-year, league-minimum contract that he plans to sign Tuesday.

Clemens, who turns 30 in June, tossed only three passes last season -- one of them an interception -- after starting a trio of games for the Rams in 2011. He'll battle for snaps with Austin Davis -- an undrafted, second-year player who has yet to take an NFL snap -- who will enter training camp as Bradford's No. 2, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Of course, if the Rams have their way, nobody named Clemens or Davis will see the field next regular season.
