On the heels of a lost season with the San Francisco 49ers, Brandon Jacobs wants to come home.

After Jacobs on Monday posted a photo of himself in a New York Giants uniform above the caption, "Trying to get back in this uniform," the New York Post reported Tuesday that the team has not ruled out re-signing the veteran running back, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

"He'd love to return to New York, obviously," said the source, sounding very much like an agent.

Still, the Giants haven't engaged in formal discussions with Jacobs, according to the Post, and there's no hurry to sign the 30-year-old bruiser. Jacobs was suspended and then released by the 49ers last season after failing to make a dent on the field. He quickly fell out of favor on the 49ers, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he never plays another down in NFL.

Don't hold your breath on this one. David Wilson and Andre Brown are the only viable backs under contract in New York, but re-engaging with free agent Ahmad Bradshaw makes more sense than bringing Jacobs back for another spin in Gotham.
