How analysts are projecting the first-round picks for the Atlanta Falcons in the 2013 NFL Draft:

Matt "Money" Smith

No. 30: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame

Tony Gonzalez is back for one more year, so it makes sense to groom his heir apparent while he's still around to help the kid acclimate. Good luck trying to defend those two when they're on the field at the same time.

Charles Davis

No. 30: Zach Ertz, TE, Stanford

Yes, Tony Gonzalez is going to play one more year, but his eventual replacement is found with this pick. The Falcons would love a bona fide pass rusher here, or perhaps a cornerback, which is more likely (given the available prospects) if they pass on the tight end.

Daniel Jeremiah

No. 30: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington

Finding the eventual replacement for Tony Gonzalez at tight end should be a consideration at some point during this draft, but the Falcons must address the cornerback position early on.

Bucky Brooks

No. 30: Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State

The addition of Osi Umenyiora gives the Falcons' pass rush some sizzle, but Mike Smith still needs a high-motor rusher on the opposite side to add some substance. Werner certainly fits the bill as an energetic rusher with a blue-collar game.

Akbar Gbajabiamila

No. 30: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame

NFL offenses need a dynamic tight end these days to keep defenses honest. Tony Gonzalez is close to the end and drafting his replacement would be ideal -- especially given Eifert's unique skill set.

Gil Brandt

No. 30: Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame

Tony Gonzalez is coming back for the 2013 season, but Eifert would be the Falcons' tight end of the future. He's a very, very talented guy who can run fast, catch the ball and block. At the bottom of the first round, Eifert has the potential to be a real steal.

Charley Casserly

No. 30: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington

The Falcons need to rebuild at the cornerback position.
» Full mock draft

Josh Norris

No. 30: Corey Lemonier, DE, Auburn

The Falcons are hurting for a pass rush, and Thomas Dimitroff's unwillingness to settle for prospects with off-field red flags leads him to Lemonier, who shows a lot of strength and closing speed from the edge.
