San Diego Chargers 2013 first-round mock draft

How NFL.com analysts are projecting the first-round picks for the San Diego Chargers in the 2013 NFL Draft:

Matt "Money" Smith

No. 11: Chance Warmack, G, Alabama

The Chargers need offensive line help, and Warmack is a straight up stud, so getting a prospect of his stature at this point is a big victory. Philip Rivers will be doing backflips when the team hands in that card.

Charles Davis

No. 11: Chance Warmack, G, Alabama

The Chargers have a big need for a starting LT, but the top three candidates are gone by this pick. Still, the O-line as a whole needs help, and the selection of the mammoth Warmack brings a smile to QB Philip Rivers' face. (Though don't put it past the Chargers to try to move up and get one of those OTs.)

Daniel Jeremiah

No. 11: Chance Warmack, G, Alabama

I remain uninspired by the Chargers' free-agent acquisitions on the offensive line. Warmack would be a welcome addition to the effort to better protect Philip Rivers in 2013.

Bucky Brooks

No. 11: Barkevious Mingo, DE, LSU

Mingo is not a finished product at this point, but his combination of speed and quickness gives him a chance to develop into a 10-plus sack producer as a pro.
» Full mock draft

Akbar Gbajabiamila

No. 11: Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas

The Chargers could use someone to complement Eric Weddle in the secondary. Vaccaro has an NFL bloodline -- his uncle, A.J. Johnson, played for San Diego in 1995 -- and he can bring a physical presence to this defense.

Gil Brandt

No. 11: Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State

Rhodes is very good at press coverage, but he has work to do when it comes to playing off coverage. I talked to him recently; he recognizes that weakness and says he is working on correcting it.

Charley Casserly

No. 11: Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma

The Chargers must do a better job protecting Philip Rivers.
» Full mock draft

Josh Norris

No. 11: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah

Antonio Garay is gone, and Lotulelei is an excellent talent to anchor the defensive line.
