How NFL.com analysts are projecting the first-round picks for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2013 NFL Draft:

Matt "Money" Smith

No. 1: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

There have been too many high-upside busts on the defensive line in the last half decade to take one here. Joeckel is the lowest-downside prospect on the board. Drafting a franchise left tackle is the safest move John Dorsey and Andy Reid could make to lay a foundation for future success.

Charles Davis

No. 1: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

I keep trying to put someone else in this spot, but the big Aggie fits the profile of an Andy Reid draft choice.

Daniel Jeremiah

No. 1: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

I believe the Chiefs would love to trade out of this pick, but I don't see that being an option. Joeckel is capable of playing either left or right tackle, depending on what happens with potential trade chip Branden Albert.

Bucky Brooks

No. 1: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan

Andy Reid opts to rebuild the Chiefs' offense behind the most athletic offensive tackle in the draft. Fisher could play immediately on the right side or give the team the flexibility to trade left tackle Branden Albert to fill other roster needs.

Akbar Gbajabiamila

No. 1: Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah

Kansas City's defense ranked 27th against the run last season. Poor drafting on the front line had a lot to do with the ineptitude on this front. Andy Reid's Chiefs will run a 3-4 defense, which requires dominant interior linemen like Lotulelei.

Gil Brandt

No. 1: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

After an excellent pro day workout, Joeckel was set to have a private session with the Chiefs, who might still trade veteran tackle Branden Albert.

Charley Casserly

No. 1: Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M

Solidifies the all-important left tackle position for the next 10 years in Kansas City.

Josh Norris

No. 1: Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan

Given the Alex Smith trade, the restructuring of Tyson Jackson's contract and the free-agent signings of Chase Daniel and Mike DeVito, the Chiefs likely will target a left tackle or cornerback with this pick.
